T4-46.5 2MW

December 2009: TRES4 launches the aerodynamics of a long version of the 2MW. This blade is specially designed for the low wind classes and has an improved ratio of energy yield versus maximum loading. It captures 10% more energy in the low wind velocity bins, while the increase of extreme loading is limited to half of that value. This achievement is partly the result of an increase in rotordiameter, and the choice for a diiferent geometry, however it has also been made possible due to a change of airfoils. Latter as a result of an aerodynamic project performed in the beginning of 2009.
